Blayne's investment firm hosted an economic forum yesterday. All three local news stations showed up. He didn't get 5 minutes of fame, but he did get two seconds :)
Here's the link to one of the stories:

On Saturday we went to the zoo. The big deal of the day was that Mia threw her shoe into the fenced-off Pelican area (those are seriously freaky birds). A pelican picked it up and had it in it's scary bird mouth. I was going nuts because this was the second pair of the same shoes I had bought her and I did NOT want to buy another pair, so I was telling Blayne "You have to jump in there and get it! GET IT!" So Blayne starts whipping at the birds with a jacket to get them to drop the shoe and back away from the fence. Then Blayne jumps over the fence (totally illegal) grabs the shoe, and jumps back over the fence. I think it was the first "My dad's a HERO" moment for Darek. He talked about it for the rest of the day saying how Daddy jumped over the fence and the birds were going to eat him, but he got the shoe and jumped out. A Big Day.

Darek got me a SpongeBob coloring book for Mothers' Day.

How can you tell when Grandma T was here?

I don't have a before picture, but I can tell you that Mia's room contained her crib and nothing more (and the crib had the same blue bumper that Darek used) - you would have had no idea that a little girl slept in there. But after Grandma T was here:

THANK YOU! And a big thanks to Teri's friend Kim (aka Lady) who helped. We LOVE it!

Last week I took the kids down to Orem so that they could see Grandma Polly who was attending Women's Conference. And I forgot my camera. They had tons of fun playing with their Johnson cousins and Polly. We made it back to Idaho in time, grouchy and exhausted, for Blayne and my sixth wedding anniversary.

It's so nice to remember that sometimes it's about us and not just the kids.

Mia's lovin' her doll. When she gets up, when she eats, when she plays, she wants her baby.

Darek requested that I take each of these pictures. The first one, well, he was sick on Sunday and said, "Take a picture of me sick." So I did. The second is him holding a Mr. Potato Head hat on his head.
